What the base PV system usually covers
A comparable rooftop PV package commonly includes modules, a string inverter, mounting hardware, DC and AC wiring, protections, standard rooftop labor, commissioning and ordinary permitting or registration. Confirm each item in the proposal; package boundaries differ by installer and utility.
The base system does not automatically include a battery, backup panel, roof replacement, structural repair, meter-main modernization, trenching, unusual crane access, EV charging or grid upgrades. Keep those items separate when comparing system sizes.
What does a solar battery cost?

Do not assume a 10 kW PV array needs a 10 kWh battery. Storage should follow load profile, backup goals, tariff structure and the equipment proposal. Keep incentives and financing outside the base installed price.
Why price per watt changes with system size
$/W is a comparison metric, not a law of physics. Larger systems can spread design, permitting and mobilization costs over more modules, while complex roofs, high electrical scope or premium equipment can push the metric up. Compare the same battery status, roof type, equipment class and included work before judging a quote.
Five-, eight- and ten-kilowatt packages are common examples, not rules that map a house size to one system size. Consumption, usable roof area, orientation, shading, an electric vehicle and future loads such as a heat pump all matter.
Tax credits and incentives are separate economics
