BuildIQ ("we", "us", or "our") provides a mobile and web application that helps users manage construction projects, budgets, documents, and progress. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how it is processed. By using BuildIQ, you agree to this policy.

We may collect:

• Account data - email, authentication data handled by Supabase
• Profile data - name, phone, profile details
• Project data - investment details, budget, dates, construction progress
• User content - expenses, receipts, photos, documents, tasks, contacts, journal entries
• AI data - messages sent to AI Buddy, conversation history, and selected project context used to generate responses
• Technical data - device info, push token, installation ID, app version, IP address, and approximate location for weather features

We use data to:

• Operate and maintain the application
• Authenticate users and manage accounts
• Store and display construction project data
• Provide AI-generated responses
• Send notifications and reminders
• Improve app performance and security

We use:

• Supabase - authentication, database, storage
• OpenAI - AI response generation
• Expo - push notifications
• ipapi.co - IP-based location
• Open-Meteo - weather data
• RevenueCat - subscriptions or in-app purchases, if enabled in future versions

AI Buddy messages and selected project context may be sent to OpenAI to generate responses. Users choose what they enter into AI Buddy. AI responses are informational, may be inaccurate, and do not replace professional advice.

Data is stored securely using cloud infrastructure with encryption. We retain data as long as necessary to provide the service. Push tokens and device identifiers may be used for notifications, security, and app functionality. Approximate location may be derived from your IP address or project location for weather features. Precise GPS is not required for this weather feature.

You can delete your account directly in the BuildIQ app from account/settings. Account deletion removes your user account and associated app data, unless retention is required by law, security, fraud prevention, or legitimate operational obligations. Where manual processing is required, deletion requests are handled within 30 days. If you need help, you may also contact mybuildiq@gmail.com.
